Spotify und kein Ende…

Gestern Nachmittag erreichte mich folgende Email:

Information regarding your Spotify account

Dear Spotify user,

We’re writing to you in regards to your Spotify account which up until now you’ve been using free of charge. While we are really happy that you are enthusiastically using Spotify, we are unfortunately going to have to restrict access to your free account.

Spotify is currently available in six countries: Sweden, Norway, Finland, Spain, France and the UK. We never intended to allow use of our service outside of those countries and we do not run any adverts on your account like we do in the launch countries. For this reason we have to restrict your account, you will be able to log in to Spotify and view music and playlists but not listen to any music.

We are sorry that we have to take this step. We do hope to launch our free service in more countries in the future.

Schlussendlich bin ich ein wenig sauer über die Aktion aber irgendwann musste die Bombe ja mal platzen. Mein guter alter „deutscher“ Account ist ab sofort tot bzw. beschnitten. Ich kann mich zwar, wie in der Mail beschrieben, weiterhin problemlos einloggen und Musik suchen aber beim Abspielen erscheint folgende Fehlermeldung:

Was bleibt mir / uns also übrig?

Erstens
Einen neuen Spotify-Account mit „Sitz“ in Schweden, Norwegen, Finnland, Spanien, Frankreich oder Großbritannien erstellen und dann über unseren altbekannten Proxytrick diesen Account alle zwei Wochen „verlängern“.

Zweitens
Über irgendwelche (kostenlosen) VPN-Dienste aus den zulässigen Ländern den deutschen Account auf Schweden, Finnland etc.pp. umstellen und dann einfach „normal“ weiter nutzen. Hier bleibt natürlich die Frage nach den entsprechenden (kostenlosen) VPN-Diensten und welches Land sich dafür am besten eignet?!

Die erste Variante funktioniert zu 100%… Die zweite konnte ich bisher noch nicht ausprobieren. Vielleicht kann jemand von euch ein kleines HOW-TO für Windows und Mac in den Kommentaren hinterlassen.
